Das Hauptziel des Projekts ist, die Annahme von Methodiken zur Errechnung des Umwelt-Fußabdrucks im ICT-Sektor (ICT - Informations- und Computertechnologie) zu fördern, wobei der Schwerpunkt besonders auf dem Umwelt-Fußabdruck durch CO2-Ausstoß und Energieverbrauch liegt. ICTFOOTPRINT.eu wird Unternehmen im ICT-Sektor ermöglichen, auf leichte Weise ihren ökologischen Fußabdruck zu errechnen, um die Wirkungen auf die Umwelt zu reduzieren und gleichzeitig die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit zu verbessern. ICTFOOTPRINT.eu trägt auch in wesentlichem Maß dazu bei, das allgemeine Bewusstsein zu Fragen der Energieeffizienz durch Beratung und Veranstaltungen zu erhöhen.
